Cool little clip of the guy and the guitar that played Johnny B Goode for the soundtrack of Back to the Future.

Check out the vintage Floyd Rose.

Re: The Back to the Future Guitar (the real one...)

I have the 30th anniversary boxed set of the BTTF movies, and there's a cool interview on it where they talk about how Michael J. Fox basically produced the solo. Originally it was supposed to be just some generic futuristic solo, but then MJF brought up the idea of making it into a guitar legend medley. I'll see if I can't find it on YouTube, but it's cool stuff.

Interesting little factoid.

Can't say I like the guitar, the tone, or the playing, though.

After I learned more about guitar and guitar tones then rewatched the scene, I thought “thats not an ES-335/345/355 and Bassman. Now we see it’s a Floyd/EMG Superstrat, probably into a rack Preamp. ;)

My memories are ruined. Next you're gonna tell me Another Brick in the Wall pt.2 was recorded with a goldtop with p90s....

...or that VanHalen was recorded with an Ibanez with stock pickups.

Re: The Back to the Future Guitar (the real one...)

...or that And Justice For All was recorded on broken power tools and discarded car parts.

Re: The Back to the Future Guitar (the real one...)

. . . or that St. Anger used a snare drum instead of a metal chair. :P

Ha. damn -So I bailed out at the Black Album, but had to go check St Anger after the comment.

Now,.... serious question..

Is this authentic or somebody f*cking with me... it' sooooooooo bad.

Especially in the slower quieter bits around 1:00, you can really hear the metal chair tone.

shopping

It's definately not as nice sounding as a trash can lid:

Since this devolved to Metallica and other recordings not being what was thought.... On a Year and a Half in the Life of Metallica, they layered a ton of guitars for the Sad but True rhythm tone (including an old Danelectro). Again I thought “no wonder I can’t get that tone” after I saw it.

My only gripe with AJFA is the lack of bass. Otherwise it’s a thrash masterpiece imho.

Oh yeah, agreed -by "No that bad" -I mean the sound if EQ'd The songs and performance are amazing no matter the recording.
