i saw that TattooedCarrot has some emg p-90s (p-85s actually) in his PRS soapbar SE so after asking him about them i decided to be a sinner and stick EMGs p-90s in the schecter i traded with xeromus for. here is the result...it not only looks sweet, it sounds killer too!! it's a pair of eg p-85s. this thing sounds killer now...fat, mean and agressive with tons of clarity/articulation even in drop D. i strung it up with a set of 10-52s and played it in E and drop D and it sounds great in both but i think it may now become my main drop D guitar!

That looks great!! I have a dealer pricing an EMG custom shop neck pup that will be an SA built into the P90 housing. EMG already told me they can do it, I just need to go through a dealer to find out how much. But I love the bridge P85.

pac: it's all good, i know you ment no harm lol.

TC i was going to go with a 60 in the neck but my dealer has two 85s in stock so i just went with it...i can't wait for anything lol. the 85 neck is pretty good, nice for lead work but a bit bassy under gain for any chord work, but that's ok i only use the neck for lead. the bridge however rocks! thanks again for the info on them, not only do they look killer but they sound great too!

Jackson: yeah i felt like a traitor twice lol..once for buying emgs then for putting emg p-90s in place of real p-90s. emg p-90s are far from real p-90s lol they are just p-90 sized versions of the full size hums for the most part and the 85 in the bridge rocks in mahogany, i knew this from a past les paul i had with a set of 85s in it.

pac: i think i have seen them in metal somewhere i know you can get chrome and gold plastic ones...i'll see if i can find the real metal ones again...don't remember where i saw them....hmmm

joe: come on over man..but your not leaving with anything lol. i used to go to school at the university of hartford, i took the ferry many times to get home or to school. it's not a bad ride, you should come for the LI jam if your free!

Same here, I looked all over for a 60A or a 60 and nobody had them. In fact, I only found one dealer who had the P90 series at all, and they only had 81's and 85's so I went with two 85's. But I'm looking forward to the custom shop jobber as I think a single coil sounding neck pup would be great in the SE..

joe: lol that's funny...i went there freshman year...99-00. i left after one year and transfered back home. it wasnt for me, the school was nice and all, and i made some good friends but i just wanted to come home to my close friends, family, my guitars, my cars, real pizza and chinese food etc etc lol :laugh2: speaking of UHa have there been any good things written out of the rocks below the bridge in the stream? i helped my roomate who was rushing for delta sig write some crazy stuff a few times in the middle of the night using rocks to make the letters lol...ahh good times :laugh2: .

Yeah man! There's always Greek letters down there, and at night times on a nice day there's a green smell that always emits from down there too haha... and I know what you mean about uha not being for you, I lived there my first semester, but now I commute from Waterbury, its about 40 minutes a day. I might attend the LI jam if I can remember when it is.

Interesting. Are the EMG P90s (err, 85s) voiced like P-90s? I mean, do they have the raw aggressiveness the SD Hot P90 has?
