The Coolest Guitars of the SDUGF

Re: The Coolest Guitars of the SDUGF

Now, I should say that I don't nominate this, because in my opinion it was done really haphazardly and before I knew much about what it takes to build a project guitar. However I do like the end result, but that being said I think there are much cooler guitars here on the forum. Yeah, it's kinda ghetto (if you look close you can see the drill mark where I messed up the paint job installing a telecaster saddle on a 6-point tremolo - in retrospect, should've taken it off beforehand, but you live and you learn), and yeah, it doesn't have anything as awesome as unique pickups or anything, but I like it.

The headstock is hard to see in the photos - it's a bass clef superimposed over a treble clef. And after I built it, I found out that fender offered the tornado HH, which is a jazzmaster body w/ a 6-point tremolo and humbuckers. Oh well.

Woah... no need to belittle yourself bro. I think that's probably 30% "cooler" than anything I have. I like how the colors interact and reflect upon each other especially. And that headstock is very well done. I can tell. I'd nominate that.

Should have said it earlier:

If the owners of "awarded" guitars happen to pass around here, don't be selfish! Post some pictures of the winners.

And particularly, I'm talking to you, Kherman! Show us that red Explorer will you? :D:bling:

Thanks, Diego!!

Here you go.

some of my favorites are XSSIVE's copper LP, drnewc's halford warrior, gearjoneser's blue/black strat with the engined pickguard, and whoever had that SG with P90s and a bigsby

and tattooedcarrot has probably sold more cool stuff than the vast majority of us will ever own :laugh2:

That just stole a place in my favorites bro. Very sexy. I bet you can get the ladies just flashing the V around.

Isn't it great that we all have a better appreciation for finely crafted and aged musical instruments? I think it's great that we're not playing sucky guitars. If anything we got taste.

Re: The Coolest Guitars of the SDUGF

well, i like the 'finely crafted' part...'aged', not so much...

What's ironic is that I also sold that copper LPC to XSSIVE, :laugh2:

My Pearl Pink Carvin X220C is one of the coolest guitars I have ever played.
She plays like butter, resonates like crazy, has tone for DAYS and is so light it feel like a toy this thing is just ALIVE!! I have owned several X220's and other Carvins over the years but none of the others ever played and sounded like this one. Pinky is one SCARY good ax!!!
