The Delay Quest. Warriors and sorcerers join my Quest for the Holy Delay

WITH FULL DISTORTION

ahahahahahahahahaahahahahahahahahahah

Guys , its been an extremely difficult time for me to set a new taste in sound and style.
I cant decide which distortion pedal and delay pedal will i get.
i always used the boss dd-3 but then i discovered that a REVERSE Delay is the responsible for this beautiful sound here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=13m9J82Ghok

And i want one delay pedal that has this reverse delay feature.
In the meantime i realized that the boss dd7 or dd3, almost didnt allow the true sound of the guitar to breath, although i love the feel and texture of the boss delay, this true bypass thing got me intrigued.

SO, i bought this Tc eletronic flashback delay but i wasnt too satisfied with it. it always sounds (with distortion) a bit dirty. i agree that my technique isnt first class and i may let some strings ringing while im playing, but HEY, that almost didnt happen with the boss.
PLus, i think this tc eletronic has a drier sound than the boss.

SO, could you guys help me for the 666 time again? HAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAH

I want a mediu to Dark Delay thats singing, Deep and smooth. That has the reverse delay Option, and that has a true Bypass option as well.
DOesnt matter if its analog or digital.

COuld you guys point me some models so i could youtube it and hear the differences? if im luckuy enough i may try one or two here in Brazil.

****ing thanks and hails
JP

DD-7 ???

Re: The Delay Quest. Warriors and sorcerers join my Quest for the Holy Delay

A carbon copy is going to be your go to. Or check out the stuff that Way Huge is doing. They've got like 3 delays out now. Each one has got a super long delay time.

Re: The Delay Quest. Warriors and sorcerers join my Quest for the Holy Delay

The EH Stereo Memory Man w/Hazari has a reverse echo function that sounds really cool but it's kinda expensive.

Re: The Delay Quest. Warriors and sorcerers join my Quest for the Holy Delay

I can only tell you to avoid the line 6 dl4. It does the reverse delay nicely, but the quality is horribly inconsistent. Would hate to see you spend your money and get stuck with a dud.

Re: The Delay Quest. Warriors and sorcerers join my Quest for the Holy Delay

I already found my holy grail delay: the Deluxe Memory Man.

Ahahahahahahahahahahaha!

Hey Aceman
Thanks for the input man
But no boss delays for me. i used both. but i found the same true bypass problem. Q: /
although i like the deepness and etc , theres some issues.

I have i small question. i heard some people saying that (cant remember which one) the digital delay is less intelligible because of the texture or the way the signal sounds. and the analog delay is more intelligible . for the same reason. but i think its the other way round.

is it accurate or pure bull****?!

Hey Tonello. Thanks for the input man. Q: ) Ill search for it and see if Ill like it. the main problem is when i use Distortion . thats the main problem. the delay itself in clean mode is not problem at all. ahahah

Carbon Copy and way huge line. ill search for them. thanks man.

Yeah...sorry man. $319 for a new one. I thought they were less.

I saw Carl Verheyen play recently and he made a Copy Cat sound real good.

Re: The Delay Quest. Warriors and sorcerers join my Quest for the Holy Delay

Digitech Hardwire DL-8 Delay/Looper will do everything you want at a cost you can afford. ;)

Re: The Delay Quest. Warriors and sorcerers join my Quest for the Holy Delay

I've never been a big promoter of Boss pedals in the past, but the newer DD-7 is the best of the series.
I've messed with the reverse function a bit and it's pretty cool.....I need to mess with it more.
But the addition of analog and modulation modes really kicked it up a notch.

I like the fact that it's got two inputs and two outputs, so I can put one more stereo pedal before it.

Re: The Delay Quest. Warriors and sorcerers join my Quest for the Holy Delay

Anyone try the Behringer Digital Delay DD600? I know they don't compare to a $300 pedal but it looks like they have a good amount of features, including reverse.

Re: The Delay Quest. Warriors and sorcerers join my Quest for the Holy Delay

It does not have the reverse feature but I have been testing out an Earthquaker Devices Dispatch Master and it is simply fantastic. I've been testing it side by side with the DD7 and sound quality wise the DM just blows it away. The DD7 has more features and is not a bad pedal at all. However, I won't use many of the features and again, sound wise the DM sounds so much more...."natural" is the only word I can sue to describe it. The EQD is also a Delay/Reverb and you can use them separately or together. They blend well and sound great together or seperate. Fantastic pedal and I'm going to be returning the DD7 soon. You can get an DM for about $140 used or $180 new.

+1, every time I'm shopping for a pedal I end up with Hardwire! Look at my signature. The features and quality for the price can't be beat. The only thing that disappoints me a little is the Looper, but that feature is gravy for an awesome delay pedal. If the tapping feature is really important to you, there are better pedals out there that are easier to manipulate with your foot. Also, of course, you have to be ok with digital to go with this pedal.

Re: The Delay Quest. Warriors and sorcerers join my Quest for the Holy Delay

Even though it's digital, the DL-8 does a great job of replicating BBD delay tones though. I compare it to a couple of BBD delays I have, and it's very close.
