The Dimarzio Chopper is in!!!!!!!! Pic included!

Re: The Dimarzio Chopper is in!!!!!!!! Pic included!

I have a Chopper neck with a Norton bridge in one of my strats and it's an awesome combination. I'm using 500k pots as well. An Injector neck would be a whole different sound. The Chopper is pretty unique. A Fast Track or Virtual Vintage Blues for the neck would probably fit better.

Like I said, don't judge the Injector by the PG videos. It doesn't sound like that with anyone else's rig.

Its like a hotter VV blues, with better articulation and without the A5 string pull problems. Sounds nothing at all like a humbucker the way Gilbert does, and neither does the bridge model for that matter.

That pickup is a solid answer to the Kinman Woodstock model. Where the Woodstocks are fat and articulate but can sound clangy in some guitars, the Injector neck has the same qualities but with a more solid, non-clangy low mid.

Toast man, I was saying that...but the silence of the Chopper and incredible tone really makes the stock singles seem anemic. Probably find some used Cruisers, Areas or Injectors. I will just replace the volume with a 500K.

I have a chopper with an area 67 m and area 58 N ... The Chopper is a lot louder. There is also a major tone difference between the ceramic mag and the alnico 2's. I would also consider a pair of area 61's ... Not sure about injectors on anything but the bridge.. Maybe a second chopper on the neck and an area 61 on the middle. .

I'd add that my advice on the Injectors comes from actually having installed about 10 sets so far on mine and others' guitars, not from watching PG videos on Youtube.

DA CHOPPA!

Love it in the neck.

I just put a chopper in the neck of my Jackson. Sounds great

I'm about to put one in the neck position in an HSS San Dimas like, looking for the wide opened sounding of a DM virtual PAF neck.

Tone chart is quite close, chopper shows a bit brighter, i just dońt want the SD 59 sound I dont like, too thin to my taste.

Any other feedback?

Congratz! I really like pro track on a strat bridge position, with 250k pots theyre fat and juicy. After reading this thread looks like I need to try the chopper!
