The Distance

Re: The Distance

ok, Ive listened a couple times, I dig your stuff, Im not lyin', I bet your friends think its pretty dope as well...

I would like to know what your signal chain is for vocals, if you use a real compressor and such. You have a good grasp of using cords in the same key and soloing using notes in the right key, good timing etc. This chorus if very prominent, and I dig that it was so minor key and melow for the verse and then switched to almost a major key for the chorus, very uplifting. the only CC I would like to offer is that for the chorus I think it might sound better if you had more going on for the drums/guitars - maybe just more saturation/distortion on the rhythym guitars would be a quick fix. cheers :beerchug:

Re: The Distance

I didn't get the same sense of cohesiveness from this tune as I did the other one you posted but them I read the description and I see why. It is done well enough though and that is a great challenge to take on.

Re: The Distance

Thanks for the listen and the comments all.

everdrone - drums are programmed. we may have a drummer redo them so look for a repost. As for vocals, I use a Carvin Large Diaphragm Condenser mic. I send the dry tracks over to whomever is mixing it. They usually add compression, eq and reverb to it. Who knows what else lol.

Wattage - Every tune I have done has been a collab in some way or another. If I do a tune with guitar, bass and vocals I usually farm out the drums and keys if we need them.

Re: The Distance

I dig the mix an the feeling. The "vocals" feel a bit loud and distant. But that's fine with me.
Love it. great song!
