Re: The EMG Legend Is FALSE

That classic is a beaut. Looks identical to one I tried at GC the other week. I agree with joelap about the vine of life inlay though- I personally don't care for that at all.

I don't really see the point of having two guitars with such similar sound though- if it were me I'd probably end up favoring one over the other constantly. It's nice having one sound modern and one vintage :)

Re: The EMG Legend Is FALSE

See, I found I favored the one with EMG's more. Now they're almost identical, both playing and soundwise (as identical as you're going to get without being the same models), and I just pickup whatever pleases me at the moment. The Classic looks prettier, the Stealth looks meaner. Depends on my mood. ;)

Re: The EMG Legend Is FALSE

Haha, well I guess if you just favor the emg sound more for everything it's all well and good :P For me when I pick up the prettier guitar I usually end up playing more mellow music so that's just me :P

My sg is like "the death metal guitar" since I couldn't care less about dinging it and it chugs so well.

I'd use one for a dropped tuning personally...

Atm I have my 3 electrics in E, D and C#, and with the guages I can flatten them by a semitone before it gets too floppy for me. It made no sense having 3 humbucker electrics in E.

I had them set up like that, and for some reason I always gravitated back up to standard.

That said, after I get another amp, I'm going to get a 7 string or an axe to keep in B.

considering my nice name from jeff, I take offensive of this FALSE statement. :lmao: :laugh2: :lmao:

Re: The EMG Legend Is FALSE

EMG in a paul? Do you even realize how much sustain you'll have? Play a note today and it'll be just as loud tomorrow.

Whatever you do, put that ****ing 85 in the bridge! Don't settle for that pansy ass 81!:laugh2:

Re: The EMG Legend Is FALSE

Yea, everyone thinks an 81 is the only bridge pickup EMG makes because zakk wylde uses it.

They discredit EMG b4 they even try their good stuff, they just buy the ZW set and say it sucks, then ebay it.

Re: The EMG Legend Is FALSE

Hey now! Don't bash the 81 too harshly. I'm mixing a song from before I switched the pickups around and it really is capable of some awesome sounding crunch. It's just not the metal beast it's made out to be :)

Re: The EMG Legend Is FALSE

Oh I know, the 81 is not a bad pickup at all. The thing really screams, but the 85 kicks the **** out of it.
