The Gibson VIctory is back

I don't hate it as much as everyone here does, but it does look terribly dated. I wouldn't own one.

I kinda dislike 99% of what Gibson and Fender were doing in the 70's and 80's, personally. At least visually.

I don't hate it. And I like choices; it's not like they discontinued the SG or Explorer to 'make room' for these.

AFA a trem and other variations, I'd imagine those will come if there's enough demand.

There was no demand when these originally came out. With their competition at that price being ESP and Jacksons, I can't imagine anyone choosing the Gibson.

I want to like them, but that Explorer headstock kills it for me. While.I do not hate the Explorer headstock, they look great on Explorers, on this it looks ugly to me. They should have went with a Firebird headstock. That would look sexy af.

I think the bassist for Ted Nugent used a Victory bass back in the day. It looked better as a bass, honestly. But I can't think of any people that chose to use a Victory guitar back then.

I like that the bass is giving the audience a two fingered salute:

Honestly, it wouldn't look that bad if it got rid of the pickguard and had a smaller headstock

Still wouldn't buy it, though...ha ha!

i dont mind the single pup version of the bass. the two pup pickguard irritates me

Truthfully I like its quirky look until I get to that headstock. It reminds me of the PRS Vela which next to the Mira is my favorite PRS ever by a large margin. But man that headstock. Put a Firebird headstock, an open book 3+3, or maybe even a Flying V headstock on it and I would probably love it. The V in particular would have made sense with the name.

Well, it's not for me.. but hey at least it doesn't look like every other guitar , looks ergonomic, looks like it has good fret access, has a 6 inline headstock.. I'd say it's an improvement on most of their models even if it's ugly as sin :laugh2:
