It's a highly popular tune, so it's bound to be out there. There's also probably an official film score transcription that can be found at a local music store. I know Nino Rota is the composer... the song is either called Godfather theme or Love Theme from Godfather (I think).
EDIT: Yeah, I took a look online, and most of the tabs are incomplete. I think if you really like the piece, you may have to bite the bullet and get the official sheet music. The chords will be there with the melody, so it'll also be easier to make your own arrangement/chord melody on guitar.

As far as i can tell the first little two flurry of notes are indeed wrong.
Since I can't recognize which part they're meant to be, I'll guess it was an attempt at what is below:
I've seen this in different keys, so I'll we'll just use D minor as in the example above. The two little licks that precede the long ending one there are like below. I believe that ending flourish is tabbed correctly.

The D on the 15th fret of the B string is your root note. Bear in mind that Slash also embellishes the theme a little, and his version can make it harder to distinguish the true melody because he does do some pitchy bends. The orchestral version can be found on YouTube, and I found that lifting the notes was much easier from musicians playing the original score.
Also, I just saw that you wanted that very beginning bit without all the confusing bending. Here it is. You may have to adjust for the key you want to play in.
As per Godfather II intro sequence:

Hot **** I love this movie. Hope the above helped. I know you said you wanted the intro with no slides or bends, but at least those last three notes really should be played legato. I suggest using a few grace notes and slides in the overall piece, it seems to call for it.
My favourite way to play this theme is tremolo picked on an acoustic. Sicily, baby.

i think that the long lick in the end of the tab i posted is tabbed wrong too, slash clearly has longer pauses in some parts of it, but im not completely sure where to keep the pauses because it doesnt read in tab

I double checked it against this:
