Mass production is all about consistency, if it is not consistant then alot of time is going to be spent on correcting stuff, nothing wrong in doing it right, lots of units or not.

Very true, and that's partially what I meant by poor workmanship. It doesn't really matter if the work is being done by hand or by a machine - the only thing that matters is the quality of the result.

I hear complaints of Duncan consistency in their quality but I haven't experienced this myself!
