The Great Cream Color Uprising (And Vintage White)

Re: The Great Cream Color Uprising (And Vintage White)

Hey guys let's cool it down. Part of this thread was about other colors like white, etc. House may not know that we do offer most if our humbuckers in colors like green, red, yellow, etc. You order them as "shop floor custom". Colors like white, zebra, and reverse zebra are often standard part numbers. So some people may look at our price list or talk to a dealer and think a certain humbucker is ONLY available in those colors, when really it is available in all the custom colors. No comment on the Dimarzio cream other than to clarify that it's a trademark, not a patent, and I do not believe they are licensing it to anyone. Welcome House, sorry if tensions run high around here when it comes to double cream humbuckers.

Re: The Great Cream Color Uprising (And Vintage White)

Been considering a "Bumblebee" replica someday and a yellow/black combo IM1 might be killer.

Re: The Great Cream Color Uprising (And Vintage White)

Hey House! Welcome! As previously stated there are some former members that keep coming back under new names to "stir the stew". Usually they post negatives that are more aimed to bring discontent in this community, so we tend to be alil short. Plus, yeah, the double cream thing is a major thorn in our sides here anyhow..

Re: The Great Cream Color Uprising (And Vintage White)

I've always wished SD would make organic colors that would compliment translucent wood finishes. Colors like tan, brown, olive, maroon, clear amber, and gray.

Thanks Bro, I appreciate the welcome mat. Now could somebody tell me whats the difference between a trembucker and a humbucker, and what does A5 stand for, and if a P-90 is a single coil pickup why do they have it placed in a humbuckers body, and is there some kind of way to make a humbucker sound crisp and clear like a SC when played clean and not sound like someone turned the tone nob down? Who's Seth Lover? I read some guys are able to swap out the magnets in there PU's, how is that done? Is the glass half full or half empty? What came first, the chicken or the egg?... Told jah I'd be ask'in a lot of question. :cool2:

Re: The Great Cream Color Uprising (And Vintage White)

Jah? As in Ras Tafari?

Religion. Infraction!

Naw, not Ras Tafari, I'm Baptist (Sometimes, I think, I don't know. That's what my mother told me years ago). I meant Jah as in, "Told you; or told ya; or maybe I should have used the spelling juh ."
But, like-a Ras, me no turn down no weed! :naughty:

Re: The Great Cream Color Uprising (And Vintage White)

I sense that either you are a complete newb or the micturation is being extracted. :scratchch

Naw, I ain't piss'in, I'm just funn'in, and I ain't that much of a newb (I know who he is. :naughty:, I'm just being playful, that's all) , but you'll find that out later. I do like to make people laugh if I can, and as long as it's not at the expense of another.

But seriously man, beside the Seth Lover, and the chicken and the glass, ya'll gonna help me out with the other questions?

Re: The Great Cream Color Uprising (And Vintage White)

Thanks Bro, I appreciate the welcome mat. Now could somebody tell me whats the difference between a trembucker and a humbucker,

Means wider spacing between poles for Fender or other guitars that have wider string spacing at the bridge.

and what does A5 stand for,

Alnico 5 -- a grade of Alnico, an alloy used for magnets.

It is a single coil and it is NOT in a humbucker body, it is in a P90 body.

1) Turn treble up on amp
2) Raise screws on humbucker and/or raise pickup closer to strings
3) Change strings
4) Adjust height of humbucker
5) Turn bass down on amp
6) Use pick closer to bridge or otherwise alter playing technique to maximize crispness
7) Try vintage output humbucker instead of high output
8) Try Fender or Fender clone amp instead of Marshall clone
9) Cut tone pot out of circuit or wire switch to cut tone pot in and out of circuit as needed
10) Lower screws on humbucker on bass strings and/or lower bass side of pickup

Like a Jaguar? That's just off the top of my head...

Ok, cool, I know about the grades of Alnico, just didn't know the -A- thing was an abbreviation. Cool!

It is a single coil and it is NOT in a humbucker body, it is in a P90 body.

Now, is the P90 a slender shaped SC such as the ones we are accustomed to seeing on a Strat, or is it a little wider? If it is like the more popular SC's, has anyone every placed it into to the normal configuration of a Strat?

Hmmm, I see. I'll just get a beefed up SC and call it a day...

Inventor of humbucker.

GOT IT! COOL...
