The HS appreciation thread.

Re: The HS appreciation thread.

Whats wrong with you ****ers? I thought we had more fans of 1hum1single guitars here?

Maybe because you made this "rule" in your 1st post . . .

Post pictures of your HS guitar or any others you like. Only rule is you have to have one full sized humbucker bridge and one single neck.

That leaves out my 1-HB neck, 1-Single bridge axe. (Which is one of my favorites).

Re: The HS appreciation thread.

I picked up this chambered Ash, Trans-Neon Pink body from Warmoth and had it routed for H-S and a non-recessed Floyd. Just got a killer neck for it (birdseye maple with black diamond inlays) and the hardware is on its way. Hope to have some NGD pics available soon!

Mine are all either H/H. H/S/H or H/S/S..

Re: The HS appreciation thread.

Man thats epic ^^ Can anyone guess why they don't just match the fretboard angle with the pickup?

Re: The HS appreciation thread.

pole-piece spacing of the pickup only allows up to a certain angle-of-placement until the poles no longer line up with the strings.

also, i guarantee that nobody is going to play the low E past the 24th fret.

I was talking about the fingerboard not the pickup.

Rand did a similar style thing
Yet the orbit goes all the way.

I guess its just the desired aesthetics and it actually has nothing to do with function.I have thought about this a lot because i am currently building my second extended range guitar.

On a different note the angle cut in to the fretboard on this EC actually serves a purpose. Its not easy picking over a fretboard especially with low action. Seems minor and you do get use to it but my next 36 fret build will feature something similar.

Re: The HS appreciation thread.

If there is one thing I have learned from this thread, it's that HS guitars tend to look damn good with reverse headstocks.

Also, people who like HS guitars tend to also like reverse headstocks, and vice versa.

Also HS guitars generally = f'n METAL.

See, I like HS guitars but I hate reverse headstocks, with a passion

Re: The HS appreciation thread.

OK, here's sth interesting.

I don't own an HS guitar and I don't own a signature guitar.

However, the following are the signature guitar's that I could see myself owning. I'll let you spot what they have in common (other than being superstrats with a trem that is):
Kiko Loureiro's Edwards:
