The HS appreciation thread.

Re: The HS appreciation thread.

Only HS guitar I owned was a Squier 51.. I would post it but it fell apart over the years and is laying in my room under a pile of stuff.

truly a piece of garbage :)

Loving these guitars though. That second one you posted OP looks awesome

Re: The HS appreciation thread.

My one and only Ibanez RG3XXXV. No need modification, right of the bat: DiMarzio DActivator (b), Air Norton S (n). I feel like Paul Gilbert every time I pick it up, like my fingers are on NOS, like that movie Fast and Furious:

Peter has a gift, no other way to call it. Whatever comes out of his hands looks like it was meant for the guitar gods. Too bad he isn't a fan of teh trems.

Re: The HS appreciation thread.

now i m gonna be a dick in saying that most guitars featured here are technically not H-S by having humbuckers in single-spacing. I myself have a true H-S, but looks like H-S-S, the middle single coil is there to fill route for middle pickup.

If you ask for a Mann Made trem or Wilkinson/Gotoh 5+1 he'll do it with minimal grumbling :). The former in particular is a great piece of kit.

Re: The HS appreciation thread.

Soon, after I get a Perpetual Burn humbucker, the guitar in my avi will be an HS once more. Right now it has a GFS mean 90, which is not that great.

Re: The HS appreciation thread.

an old buddy of mine got hisself some sponsoring from Orange and has been putting out lessons youtubes and this latest one, where he runs through the settings of the Tiny Terror combo, he has this beast of a cobbled H/S that made be do a double take. It used to be an old SG jr that someone had put a tailpiece on at some point in the past, but now had a single up front, humbucker in back and a 2pt trem installed.

Re: The HS appreciation thread.

So, how long have you been creaming yourself over this one :P?

Did you just say i should build a uli sky replica?

I like that esp from a craftsmen perspective, But i dont think it would be very practical. Access to the upper range would be extremely hard.

Whatever floats your boat, man ;).

Agree though that the practicality of the ESP is limited; Ibanez did a better job in this respect with their 30 fret RG, you can actually get up there.
