Wow. It never ceases to amaze me how people overthink and obsess over everything needlessly here. IME, an inch or so difference in coil placement on a '59/C isn't going to make any difference in any real-world playing scenario. But even if it does, so what? Such concerns miss the point, which is, it'd work, and then we'd know how it sounds. It'd be a rough experiment just to see what happens anyhow – no reason to get obsessive over the theoretical ideals. I just want to throw the damned thing in the bridge position and let her rip. I'll bet that the results would be bit-chin', regardless of anyone's cerebral hangups on the finer technical points. The guy doing the testing seems to think that it's a bit too fat for the neck position...which sounds to me like it might make a really nice bridge pickup.
I really wish that this project would finally be wrenched away by Duncan, and simply sold to us already.
