well it says MIJ-so prolly not the same plant in Korea (though likely the old Peavey ones were)
I loved my old MIK Wolfie- Best Floyd Rose guitar I've owned. PLayed like a dream, great piece of wood, and stayed in tune to no end. I suspect these new ones are going to be alot more expensive though- Somewhere in the neighborhood of $1600-$2000.
Unfortunately the reason few manufacturers manufacture in Japan anymore is because the prices got too high and profits too low. These days most of what you see coming priced reasonably out of Japan is not intended for import (like MIJ fenders or Edwards), and thus doesn't get all kinds of big markups from the logistics neccessary to getting the stuff over here and distributed. Dean tried going with a MIJ Soltero a couple years back- great guitar, big $ failure, cos the price was right around $2000. Guys going to pay that much will pay a few hundred more for a lower end MIA version.

Whoa whoa whoa $2000? Are you guys seriously estimating that much for a regular MIJ veneer topped guitar? I was thinking $1300-$1400 tops...I mean I know the name EVH tends to have hefty pricetag with it but for that kind of money you can get really high end stuff, specially used.

Price for these are $1299 and a little more for the tobacco burst color .I don't see these as being a huge failure. A USA Wolfgang is close to $3000, and the quality of these guitars should be just as good from the Japanese plant. Only difference is minus some features/options that you would get for the USA one. As for the "over $1k you get into some really nice proven guitars", Japanese made guitars have been proved to be great guitars so doesn't this guitar fall in that category?
