Re: The new Gibson Les Paul Custom Lite
And call me crazy, but I've never run into neck dive on a guitar, SGs included. So I assume I wouldn't find it bothersome on this new LP.
Weight doesn't bother me much either, but I do like thin guitars. It's one reason (among many) that I like G&Ls over Fenders. G&Ls' standard thickness is 1-9/16", vs. 1-3/4" on Fenders ("student" models and some Squiers excepted). The Esquire I'm building at the moment has a 1-1/2" thick body (as did Leo's very earliest 1950 guitars), and I think that's the way I'm gonna go on all future builds that I don't intend to be reproductions.
So, this LP sounds great to me, for the most part. I just can't get past the look of rosewood on a Black Beauty.
Call me crazy but I have never had an issue with the weight of my Les Paul. I have a 9 lb Traditional Pro and I love it.
