The New Squiers

Re: The New Squiers

I am once again amazed by your awesome argumentation skills. This is totally irrelevant to the situation.

Obviously there is no use in discussing this with you, as you chose to ignore the information posted by members, either with their personal experience or opinions, and instead chose to stick to a false and uninformed statement you brought forward.

In the meanwhile, enjoy staring down a narrow corridor, while the rest of us enjoy a 360 view.

Re: The New Squiers

in the world of Cheap axes Squier are doing well these days... even with the prices going up you are still getting a good bang for the buck these days... there is no way i'd ever class a Squier in the same build and tonal quality of American Fenders... but for a cheap axe they can be fun!

i like the Squier Deluxe series, and the Vintage Vibe the best... I've almost bought a White Deluxe strat many times!!!! i've seen it at the store... it has a nice flame figure to the neck that is a bonus.. the 2 post trem, 22 frets, and Duncan Designed PU's make it a nice CHEAP axe... it has some set up issues and stuff but i do most of my own guitar work anyways...

Re: The New Squiers

They seem interesting but I'm curious about the body woods.

Indian red cedar?

Pine?

How does these woods sound compared to alder?

depends on the model i guess but some of the new Deluxe Squiers are Alder... what type and grade of Alder is hard to say... at that price point they may stick anything and cover it with thick paint...

i've had a few Squiers in my hands with the Packing Crate grade lumber in them and have been impressed... impressed for a cheap axe... i wanted my buddies son's Squier Standard.. it was alright!

The Vintage Vibe tele with the pine body i tried out was pretty cool!

Re: The New Squiers

A MIM Tele beats any Squier all day long!

Hahaha, as an owner of an MIM Tele and a Squier Tele I can tell you that's not true. The Squier I own is a '99 Korean Standard series and apart from the stock pickups and the difference in finishes (which is not lesser, just different imo), they are on par. I use both of those Teles often, and can' t pick a favourite as each is different and both cover a lot of ground.

Hell even my (highly upgraded) Affinity Strat which I sold gets a lot of love from it's new owner, and I thought it was the cat's pyjama's until I upgraded my MIM and it was #2 until I bought another Tele. I guess I like Strats, but not nearly as much as Teles.

And if that's not enough my Affinity Jazz Bass far exceeded my expectations when I paid $150 for it.

I wish they still manufacture the 51'.

Me too, and I wish they made them to the exact specs of Immortal_Six's.
