The old man almost crapped himself yesterday!!!

As some of you know my father is a Les Paul fan to say the least. He has a pretty good collection of classic Pauls that range from 62's to an 83. In all he has 11 of them mostly Customs.

Anyway he was in his guitar room and noticed right away his 78 was not on the stand. He started to panic and went to my mother and asked if she had any idea what happened. She has no idea what happened and really has no interest in guitars. He called my brother and come to find out he took it to his room and was playing it and showing his friend.

Needless to say NO ONE touches my fathers Pauls he went nuts. Not so much my brother was showing his buddy the guitar but that he put it against the wall and left it. When my father went to his room to get it it had fallen on the floor and the head stock is cracked pretty bad.

RESAULT my brother is afraid to go home :)

your brother is a dumb ass

Re: The old man almost crapped himself yesterday!!!

So you both grew up in a house full of guitars and your brother never learned to treat them with respect or care? How old is he? If he's over 20, sounds like it might be time to move out.

'78 hmmmm not cool. Lil Bro needs to man up. Repair it and then buy it from dad at average value without the crack.

[rollsingrenade]everybody knows those gibbys will snap off at the headstock just as soon as look at 'em. Better get a Fender[/trolllikecomment]

Re: The old man almost crapped himself yesterday!!!

That SUCKS!

If that happened to me, I'd do this:

Me: "Son, let's have a step outside for a little bit."

<now outside>

Me: "OK, I want to do a little test. I want to see how fast you can run. And you better run pretty damn fast because when I catch you, I'm gonna whoop your ass for being a dumbass with my Les Paul! NOW RUN RUN RUN RUN RUN!!!!!!!"

:D

Re: The old man almost crapped himself yesterday!!!

Non-guitarists just don't understand the concept that you can break a Gibson simply by making it fall over, with no extra height involved. Kind of a stupid construction but what you gotta do. No non-guitarists in da house.

Sounds like no one was allowed anywhere near them, like the scene in Spinal Tap where Nigel makes the guy leave the room.
No wonder the guy never learned respect for the guitars, they were forbidden fruit!

Re: The old man almost crapped himself yesterday!!!

If it were my guitar, and I was your father, I'd go into his room and find the thing he loves (and hopefully he's a gamer and it's his game system) and smash it into bits with a sledgehammer in the driveway.
