If you really want to be blown away, I would suggest checking out Taraf De Haidouks. Romanian Gypsy style with grandma on the accordian. Crazy fast stuff, yet still melodic!

All that part of Europe is full with music played in odd meter and microtonal scales... it's a bit difficult to digest, but so is Free Jazz, for that matter...
