The other side of Bogner

Ever since I got a Macbook Pro, I've been intrigued by Garageband, but never spent anytime with it. I got off at a decent hour today and decided to mess with its built in drum looper.

I'm a crappy guitar player, but the tone was pretty happening for a SM57 directly mic'd to my Bogner Shiva halfstack. This is a side of Bogner most probably haven't heard :D. Guitar is a Fender AVR '62 Strat, no pedals or effects were used (just some light "mastering" if you will... a sprinkle of compression, a sprinkle of reverb....)

I never contribute stuff here, so it's about time I started showing what exactly some of my gear sounds like (and unfortunately, that means what "I" sound like :D) Enjoy!

Re: The other side of Bogner

Funny that you say that because I'm a Bogner "lifer" who's actually a more into vintage amps. My reason for owning an Ecstasy is that it's like owning a roomfull of classic amps but having a footswitch attached with no ground loop problems, like I used to have when I used a multi amp rig. I didn't buy a Bogner looking for extreme metal tone, even tho it's got that in spades. I use the organic sounds in it.......and honestly, Bogner's classic tones are better than the old school amps!

I mean....I'm using LP's, Strats, Teles, McCartys, and a 335.....so you KNOW I'm all about classic tone. I set my Ecstasy up to sound like a Twin, Plexi, and humongous lead tone.
That's the nice thing about the Bogner Ecstasy.....2 players could tweak the controls and end up like James Hetfield or Jimi.

Some people....who don't know sh$% think the Ecstasy doesn't have good cleans. Sorry, but they're dead wrong. I've put Bogner cleans up against Matchless and Fender, and there's no lack of high headroom, glassy sparkle. But when it comes down to gain, Bogner will cook a Marshall or Mesa. They have gain, but Bogner does it with supreme definition and girth. It's like 2 Mesas or 2 Marshalls in stereo......and that's just Bogner in mono.

Re: The other side of Bogner

I will put the cleans in my Shiva up against any other amp I've heard. In fact I own a 68 Super Reverb and a 67 Deluxe Reverb. The Reverb in the Bogner is better. The cleans are very much like a Twin. I haven't listened to the Clip here (I can't listen to it here). Its one of if not the best channel switching amp I have heard. Most multi channel amps may have a good sound in one channel, but the other is only marginal. The Shiva as well as the Xtacy have great sounds out of all sides of the amp.
