..so help me god.

ONLY Pointy Guitars allowed in this thread. Sure, I'm a control freak, whatever ;The guitar MUST HAVE A POINT! For example, a Charvel Superstrat is NOT a Pointy guitar.

I'll lead by example;

Here are my two Jackson Pointies. One has a vintage Duncan Custom Bridge, and one has a Dimarzio bridge because I believe in equal time for all great pickups.

Ya see, I'd also not call these pointies, as they have horns not points. I'd lump these in with the Charvels.

Edit for pics:

I'd call this one below more 'pointy' even though the tips are much more rounded....my scratch built 58 V clone (not yet clearcoated).

My definition for pointy......straight lines into the 'point'

Oh, I forgot- they have to have at least one point.

Details. I love details;

Jackson with the red finish is a '80's MIJ Soloist XL Pro with Solid Poplar body and what looks like a Ebony neck ( compared to the Rosewood on the other- or its just better quality rosewood is probably what it is), and it has a Dimarzio bridge and neck , Dummy Middle.

Black Jackson is a parts mongrel with '94 Jackson Solid Poplar body and a Jackson Professional Quartersawn neck w/ binding and Duncan Custom bridge with replacement A8 magnet.

Both guitars are 100% Japanese made ( domo onigato) and everything is vintage 90's.

I suppose then that this would also qualify

Sorry, thats not a "Pointy", although I see your..erm..point. Everything is rounded. GUITAR MUST HAVE AT LEAST ONE POINT TO QUALIFY. Get to work with the belt sander and report back.

you are skirting the rules. I see two points at the end of the of the Gibson headstock. technically, yes, you have a guitar that has points, but I'm going to disallow it,. because the points are not exagerrated enough to be "POINTY"....NO.

Re: The Pointy, The Whole Pointy, and nothing but the Pointy

Everything so far in this thread except the flying v should be disqualified. Pointiness resides in the body, not the headstock.

Well, I wasn't even counting the Ibby in the background, but that Orange one has at least as many points on the headstock as those Jacksons. After all, a point can be either acute or oblique.

My pointy - Jackson soloist SLXQ flame maple top, basswood body, replaced passive EMG with neck AHB-1 and bridge AHB-2 with push/pull boost on tone pot:

Not mine, but same model

You need to point out that tip of the headstock in your Avatar just a little more, and then you can be one of us!

I agree 100%. I saw what was being considered "pointy" so I thought I'd try to sneak one by myself. I got busted but I'm extremely confused as to what is a "pointy" guitar based on the criteria of what has been posted here besides the V.

Re: The Pointy, The Whole Pointy, and nothing but the Pointy

C'mon guys it's not that difficult.

Flying Vs
Explorers
Dean MLs
Stars
Kellys
Warriors
Rhoads and King Vs
Almost any BC rich except the assassin and eagle
Carvin X series and V220s
And things that look similar to the above. Can't believe that "pointy" actually needs to be explained on a guitar forum. Shameful.

You need to use some of that astophysics to realize that a point is pointy-has a tip-a sharp pointy tip!. lol.some of the stuff you listed is not point worthy. Case in ..erm..'point' ;Flyings V's- at least the traditional Gibbos, much as I revere them , are not "pointy", mmkay?

Jer, if you really were that strict about pointiness, you wouldn't have posted two Jackson Dinkys.

Jeez.

Anyway.
