Re: The Pointy, The Whole Pointy, and nothing but the Pointy

You need to use some of that astophysics to realize that a point is pointy-has a tip-a sharp pointy tip!. lol.some of the stuff you listed is not point worthy. Case in ..erm..point.. Flyings V's- at least the traditional Gibbos, much as I revere them , are not "pointy", mmkay?

This is an outrage. Pandemonium.

Re: The Pointy, The Whole Pointy, and nothing but the Pointy

Well, I wasn't even counting the Ibby in the background, but that Orange one has at least as many points on the headstock as those Jacksons. After all, a point can be either acute or oblique.

Oh and the Ibby now looks like this

^^
And now that I look at it, those horns on the body are a lot pointer than one sees on a normal strat, or even that x body CTN put up. Which is a killer axe btw.

You have a roundness about all your axes Sir-yet, upon close introspection of that dynamic and fabulous axe you posted , I am going to allow it , becasue the tip is so close to being a perfect point. IMO, it should be ever so slightly more tipped-looks a little rounded. ,

And it sounds like it looks, if I play it right that is.
And CTN's axe has 4 very nice points on the trailing edge of the headstock.

I saw them. They aren't as aggressive as a Jackson point- more rounded. His axe is difficult to quantify as far as points IMO. Not taking anything away from the spectacular guitar.. differences are subtle , but noticeable and the "points " are marginal "points", and rounded.

Like I said, acute vs. obtuse (earlier I said "oblique" my mistake). 1277367808.jpg

Re: The Pointy, The Whole Pointy, and nothing but the Pointy

You see, I don't think an SG should ever feature in a pointy guitar thread. I mean by that criteria every Norlin Gibson made is a pointy guitar due to the headstock shape.

Stock '86 Charvel Pointy Model 3–super fast neck and great sounding pickups.
