THE PRS METAL PICKCUP

Re: THE PRS METAL PICKCUP

That's kinda vague...? Does it have a model name or does it come in a specific guitar perhaps?

Re: THE PRS METAL PICKCUP

For something that has been around for 5 years, they certainly haven't made much of a splash

Re: THE PRS METAL PICKCUP

I tried it and didn't like it. I thought it was way too dry, almost too tight. That being said, I am not a fan of dry, super tight pick ups at all, so if that was what PRS was going for then it is somewhat just not to my taste. I do like some PRS pick ups, most notablely the Tremonti for high gain or aggressive stuff.

In order to get a PRS pickup, you gots to buy a PRS guitar. They don't sell them aftermarket, so they are rare even on the used market.

I can't say that I've heard of that one either. If Jeff says it's dry and tight and that's what your after it sounds like a good fit. I typically don't care for ceramic magnets either, but the Duncan Custom is a very organic sounding pickup that still gives you that ceramic tightness, but with a more rich tonal palate.

Sorry I couldn't help with the PRS pickup.

Jell is spot-on. It’s a dry pickup. I love it, though. One of th best I’ve ever tried for what I do (metal, obviously). The neck model is great as well. If you come across a set for less than retail, go for it. You’ll be glad you did!
