I bought a couple of the 207s here for the mandolin, and when I tried them on guitar, it was like "Aahaaaa!!" The tone is smooth when I lay back and will bite if I push. The shoulder makes the tone even smoother. No flex whatsoever. And they flat-out rule for mandolin picks, IMO. Now I buy them by the 40-bag.
I do like sanford said...use the coin pocket of my jeans to hold three of these, so it's really quick and easy to get annother. They are so big, however that it's real easy to keep a hold on them.

For the last five years I have just picked up the blue tortex stuff, I've not tried anything else, there might be something I'd like better, but I can't really be arsed faffing about.

I ****in love the way you brits talk man. "I can't be arsed faffing about," is such a clearer, more concise way of expressing the same point i was trying to make, but using way fewer, much cooler words. I gotta take a trip over there and just chill until i pick up more lingo.

The nickel-tipped Dava Master Control is where it's been at for me lately. It's the Humvee of guitar picks.

Before this I'd been using the regular nylon Davas, but now I'm pretty much stuck on the heavy duty ones. It does a lot for my playing and makes a noticeable impact on the sound (highs have more chime and there's more body and aggression on the low end).

I gotta try one of those V-Picks!

Jazz III XL picks...nothing else feels and sounds right to me anymore!

i would like to try the Ultex Jazz III picks, but they don't come in XL yet?!

I use exclusively the free ones that I find. LOL They gotta be Heavy though.

You'd think I'd be picky about picks, but I'm not. It doesn't matter as long as they say Heavy on them.

Jim Dunlop Stubby 1.0mm most of the time and 3.0mm for when I'm playing really fast rythyms and such.
Gives those triplets a nice tight sound.

I use the Tortex greens .88 on electrics, on small body acoustics I like the yellow ones (.73). I use my fingers as much as picks too.

I just ordered some .73 and .88 Tortex Wedges, along with a pack of Ultex Jazz IIIs. Hopefully one of them will be an improvement, or at least serve for some inspiration!

ive been using a pretty light gauge medium pick, but i need to start using heavier medium picks.

The little black jazz III's. I used to use the reds but the sound that came out was often too mellow for me. The blacks give more control, and you can make them have a mellow tone just by your technique.

I want to try the ultex ones.
