The ultimate pedalboard.

Well, I have alot of money to spare due to my gracious mom.

So I am gonna get myself a proper pedal board.

I already have:
Morley Mark Tremonti Wah.
Rocktron Tsunami Chorus.
MXR Distortion+
MXR Distortion III.
Boss SD-1 modded.
Boss DS-1.
Korg DT-10.

So I need:
Phaser
Flanger
Delay
Volume pedal
Tremolo
Sonic Stomp.

My pedalboard will be a Rockcase RC23020A which measures 80x50cm so I have alot of space.

I was thinking of:
Korg DT-10.
Boss DS-1 for heavy rhythm.
Boss SD-1 for lead boost.
MXR Distortion III for medium Boys Are Back In Town kinda crunch.
Rocktron Tsunami.
Morley Tremonti Wah.
BBE Sonic Stomp.
TC Nova Delay.
EHX XO Stereo Pulsar.
EB 6166 volume.
MXR EVH Phase90.
MXR EVH Flanger.

I am set on Delay, Phaser and flanger.

I am open to new drives and was thinking of the Mad Professor Mighty Red Distortion for a good 80s hard rock sound, but I am open to suggestions.

I need maximal versatility. I have a gig for 6months as a studio player in Århus, and I need a versatile board still with focus on my main task, which is playing 70s rock and 80s heavy metal ala Thin Lizzy, Gary Moore, Whitesnake and Dio.

My amp is a JCM800 2203 and I use a Charvel superstrat, a Les Paul Standard and a Strat.

I hope you guys can help me :)

-Alex.

Re: The ultimate pedalboard.

Get a Plexitone, throw all the other overdrives away :D

Phaser, I really dig the EH one. Simple and very effective, quite musical sounding.
Flanger... no clue. Not a fan.

Actually I'm not a fan of anything except distortion/OD so er... good luck dude :laugh2:

Re: The ultimate pedalboard.

Drop the JCM 800 and get a Marshall JVM410H like me. Then all you'll need for the most part is either a TC Electronic G Major or G System.

Nooo I want the 800.

G System could be a good one. Saw a demo of one the other weekend, and I liked what I heard ALOT.

I just calculated.

If buy:
EVH Flanger
EVH Phase90
EB 6166
EHX XO Pulsar
TC Nova Delay
Maxon CP101

There is still a good 600-700dollars up to a G-system

Yeesh, too much crap!

Buy a Line6 something OR just find two good distortion boxes, a good mod pedal, tremolo, volume, and two delays. that's it!

Re: The ultimate pedalboard.

I wouldn't be so dead set on a Tremolo yet until you've tried the SFX-07, it looks great! Gotta stop by Guitar Center sometime next week to try it and a few other things.

Re: The ultimate pedalboard.

As someone who hates to ever have to use more than 3 pedals, i can tell you just one thing. I recently got the TC Nova delay pedal, and it is definitely stunning. If you were ever in a position of only being able to use 1 or 2 effects, this would be the very last one to go. I looked into all the others (and the TC was not easy to get here either).....it is definitely the delay pedal to have. Nice choice, if you haven't tried one yet....well....you might like to, but you could safely buy it without ever hearing it, TC stuff is that good and the Nova is a masterpiece.

Re: The ultimate pedalboard.

hate to hijack the thread but ADA MP-1 through a marshall 9005 power amp is just as much of an 80s metal set up as JCM800 is.

More spending eh?

If you play live, nobody... but nobody's going to notice a difference the differences between your four or five dirt boxes & the amp distortion... it'll be subtle at best.

You could easily pair those back to two... maybe add a fuzztone for a 3rd texture.

If you can't make that work then you need to work on 'yer skillz.

Re: The ultimate pedalboard.

dude what you need is ONE solid overdrive. the maxon od-9 + would solve some problems.
