The Well CXXIII: Arkitkt - Hard Hat Area

Arkitkt

Here's to what Ale's ya!
Thanks to Diego for the nomination to host the well (from one beer bearer to another).

Have at it - I'll try my best

Re: The Well CXXIII: Arkitkt - Hard Hat Area

Ahh, good one - you know, boys (I am one) have that special kind of equipment that makes that unnecessary.

You're welcome.

Re: The Well CXXIII: Arkitkt - Hard Hat Area

If I had a girlfriend that looked like the chick from M.A.S.H. my wife would probably kill her and me.

Re: The Well CXXIII: Arkitkt - Hard Hat Area

Inspired by James Lipton:

What do you enjoy the most in music?
What do you find repulses you the most in music?
Favorite music related sound?
Your least favorite music related sound?

Re: The Well CXXIII: Arkitkt - Hard Hat Area

What do you enjoy the most in music?

- Creativity and good vocal harmonies

What do you find repulses you the most in music?

- Overdone vocal flourishes (the chick singing the national anthem before the Superbowl)

Favorite music related sound?

- Jeff Beck's tone on "Bulgaria"

Your least favorite music related sound?

- a bass drum that goes "tack" instead of "boom" (Hello. Lars)

Congratulations. I actually had to think about these.

Re: The Well CXXIII: Arkitkt - Hard Hat Area

Why are ambiguous, canned specifications so seldom rewritten?

Is the tone in the fingers?

Inspired by the reincarnation thread - If reincarnation existed, and if you were forced to come back as a non-human animal which would you choose to be for a lifetime?

If life's fast lane was only for passing would you keep right?

Re: The Well CXXIII: Arkitkt - Hard Hat Area

Why are ambiguous, canned specifications so seldom rewritten?

- Because everybody hates writing specs and uses the crappy existing ones whenever they can get away with it.

Is the tone in the fingers?

- Hearing David Gilmour on a Gretsch made me believe that yes, it is.

Inspired by the reincarnation thread - If reincarnation existed, and if you were forced to come back as a non-human animal which would you choose to be for a lifetime?

- One of my dogs. That's the life.

If life's fast lane was only for passing would you keep right?

- I think I would have switched to the right lane a few years ago. I'm in no hurry to get anywhere anymore.

Re: The Well CXXIII: Arkitkt - Hard Hat Area

• What's the furthest place you've been from where you are now?

• Would you rather be funny or smart?

• What's the most embarrassing or weirdest CD/album in your music collection?

• Do you have any nicknames?

Re: The Well CXXIII: Arkitkt - Hard Hat Area

Artkit that pic of you and your daughter always makes me think of the greatness of you and her.
You have a look of almost unbearable sorrow, yet you keeping a stoic look in your eye probably for your daughters sake .
She is innocent, but you can see behind her beuatiful smile a lot of pain . God bless you man.

Re: The Well CXXIII: Arkitkt - Hard Hat Area

What do you think you do really well in life, as opposed to just competently?

Where do you want to go next?

Which person, living or dead, do you have the most admiration for?

Hello, hello, hello, is there anybody in there?

Re: The Well CXXIII: Arkitkt - Hard Hat Area

• What's the farthest place you've been from where you are now?

Probably Hawaii. My In-Laws used to live there and we visited them a few times. Wouldn't want to live there, but it's a place to visit

• Would you rather be funny or smart?

I'm German, so funny is obviously out of the question. Smart it is.

• What's the most embarrassing or weirdest CD/album in your music collection?

Nothing really embarrassing. If I like it , I like it. The weirdest ones are probably a bunch of albums from obscure Hungarian bands from the 80's that I bought when we spent our family vacations there. I really need to dig those up.

• Do you have any nicknames?

When I was a kid, my friends called me "Patti", much to my embarrassment. Nowadays, I'm either "Dad" or "the old guy"

Re: Profile Pic

Is your Strat body bound?

What pickups are mounted in it?

The body in that picture was not bound. I have since switched it out to a blueburst body from StewMac. In the old, natural one the Bridge mounting studs were in the wrong place and I couldn't intonate it properly. I tried drilling them out and installing new ones, but the wood in that area was already pretty chewed up from a previous owners' failed attempts.
I have a JB, SSL-2 and a Jazz in it. The Bridge is an X-Bridge with Piezos The whole mess is controlled by a custom switcheroo with individual mini-switches instead of the usual 5-way. I think it was ArtieToo who helped with that when I first joined the Forum in 2000 or 2001.
