Do you own a car? I've heard you speak of bike riding to commute to work, and am honestly rather jealous that I do not live close enough to my job to do the same.

I doubt it.

I don't own a car, though not necessarily by choice (economic factors are the main reason). Fortunately, the climate in Vancouver means that I can bike to work pretty much all year as long as I don't mind getting wet. It's a 1 hour ride to work. I often take the bus part of the way home depending on how I'm feeling. Another key factor is that we have a locker room with showers at the office, so I don't have to worry about stinking and/or being filthy.

Why do they call ham "Canadian Bacon"

Why do they call ham "Canadian Bacon"

What Americans call Canadian bacon is actually known as back bacon in the rest of the world. It's not ham. Though both are cured cuts of pork, ham is from the thigh and back bacon is from ... guess where.

Re: The Well episode VI: for English, press 1, pour le service en francais, appuyez 2

The tenderloin, thin sliced, cured and dipped in cornmeal.

That is actually peameal bacon, something not commonly found outside Ontario. Back bacon generally doesn't have the cornmeal on it.

Also, are you sure it's the tenderloin? I thought the tenderloin was a different cut (I love pork tenderloin btw.)

ahh, i know at McDonalds, when i order my hot cakes, some call it ham and others call it canadian bacon, still tastes like a round peice of sandwich ham to me.

Do you Jumbo Size your combos?

Vodka or Rum?

Bud or something that actually taste like good beer?

Right or Left?

Why did the chicks cross the road?

Did you take the Pepsi Challange and what did you choose?

Robert S vs. Scott F in a Jamacian Stick Fight.....who would win?

That's it for now!

Do you Jumbo Size your combos?

If I'm really hungry.

Vodka or Rum?

Vodka, except in eggnog where I like dark rum.

Bud or something that actually taste like good beer?

The second one.

Right or Left?

Forward.

Why did the chicks cross the road?

Probably a shoe sale or a yoga class or something.

Did you take the Pepsi Challange and what did you choose?

I liked them both equally. I didn't want to hurt anyone's feelings.

Admins are shy, cuddly creatures who don't like fighting.

What's Vancouver like? Post some pics too.

Imagine tall mountains covered in towering cedar trees descending into a calm ocean bay on one end of a peninsula. Now imagine the boggy delta of a big river on the other side of that peninsula. Now imagine that someone covered that peninsula in high rise apartment towers, sea and rail terminals, boutique clothing stores, and about 250 Starbucks franchises. That's Vancouver.

It's beautiful and ugly at the same time, sometimes in the same block. It's a cultural melting pot, exhibiting the benefits and drawbacks thereof on every street corner. Sometimes it looks like London, sometimes it looks like New York, sometimes it looks like Los Angeles, sometimes it looks like Hong Kong, but most of the time it looks like nothing else on Earth (except maybe Seattle).

I live on the West side of Vancouver about 2 km East of the UBC campus at the tip of the peninsula, where my wife attends class (when she feels so inclined). It's a great compromise between urbane and peaceful. I am about 14 blocks from the ocean. Jericho Beach is the nearest beach park to me, though I prefer Locarno Beach and Spanish Banks further West along the coast.

Here are some pics that my wife and I have taken:

This is a view from Jericho Beach across the bay to downtown. It was taken in December of last year.

Here's the Kid's Market at Granville Island from the same time. That's the Granville Street Bridge running over it.

I'll see if I can dig up more later.

I'll change up my questioning style a bit again. Post pictures of your answers for these items:

Your rig

A picture of some place you like to go to

A picture of a place you want to go to eventually

That Megan girl you auditioned. (I think many are waiting for this one)

Your favorite food

A superhero/villain whose power you would like to have.

Your favorite star wars character

Your favorite video game character

If you had to change places with another forum bro, who would it be?

As a guitarist, who do you most sound like?

Is married life anything like you envisioned?

Who is your biggest non-musical influence?

That's a pretty tall order. I'll see what I can come up with.

If you had to change places with another forum bro, who would it be?

There are a lot of guys on here who have a pretty good life, but I really enjoy mine. My knee-jerk reaction is to say stevie bees, due to his cool job, amazing location, great family, and kick-ass G&L Legacy. Also the hats.

As a guitarist, who do you most sound like?

That is a tough question. I don't really think I sound much like anyone. If Mark Knopfler and David Gilmour were on Star Trek Voyager and a transporter accident combined them into one person, said person would probably sound like a much more talented version of me.

Is married life anything like you envisioned?

Yes, so far it is. It's very relaxing and comfortable to have someone who is guaranteed to love you forever. I would never take her for granted though, and treasure every day that we are together. Ask me again in 5 years.

Who is your biggest non-musical influence?

My father.
