theory question

Re: theory question

Thanks for your help, I'll definately try it out, since I want to learn this ****, I won't let the difficult theory defeat me

Re: theory question

by the way, if we have a song in C, does it mean I can only use the C major scale for soloing, because it's in the same key as the song is in?

EDIT: And how do I also make the Minor scales?

Re: theory question

First you have to find out whether the song is really in the key of C major, A minor, or even in A Blues because they are relative and they all have the same key symbol. Then you can decide on how you play it and what position in your guitar neck you want to play. I had been looking through your previous posts and it seems that you are not aware of the pentatonic scale. Most guitarist play their tunes with the pentatonic scale or at least the block method of the pentatonic scale. If you are not familiar with it, you may have to do some research in the web. It is very cumbersome to try to explain it in a forum form. I encourage you to go through the web first and then you can post you questions if you encounter any difficulties. Just search for pentatonic scale and you'll find a lot of information out there.

Alright, thanks man, and no, I'm not aware of how it is, since this is the first time I've ever talked about theory.
