They Call Me WahWah...

Re: They Call Me WahWah...

Dig it. That lick at 2:31-2:35.......that yanked my ear enough to back it up several times. Nice one!

Re: They Call Me WahWah...

Thanks stevie. I think that main wah track was into an Ulbrick 12AXE pedal, into my Rockbender 2x12 combo. The rhythm guitar track was the amp sim in Logic. Bass was my Stewart Male P Bass straight into my tube preamp. I played live shaker, over a Drumcore programmed track. The Clavinet, as mentioned, was played through the Clavinet sim in Logic. There's aslo a background Hammond in there as well, which was also from Logic.

My next laptop purchase will definately be a Mac!! I love the sounds that you can get out of Logic. I've recorded a few bits on my old Yamaha sequencer, but have never found a satifactory way of using the tracks on my laptop.

Re: They Call Me WahWah...

Geoff! Great track, your stuff always sounds good, I love the groove in that tune!

Also, Lew is right, you just have a great feel for the best way to use a wah pedal...Geoffrey Teese calls is "wah foot" and my friend you have it...thats the one thing you can't buy...you can buy good wah pedals all day but if you don't have a good wah foot then you're just wasting time!

Re: They Call Me WahWah...

Your licks are thick brother that's some playing !!
I'm a big fan may I call you "sir chops a lot"

Re: They Call Me WahWah...

Meh.....I guess it's ok if you like somewhat decent guitar players. How old are you man? Do you think you'll ever find your niche' or groove? I think you should just give it up man.

Re: They Call Me WahWah...

Thank you innerdream, db and Don for your kind words and rambunctious smilies. And thanks TGWIF, I haven't heard of "wah foot" before, but I like the sound of it! Signs of my mis-spent youth finally paying off. And thank you coolpapa8, you can call me "sir chops a lot," even though I might be misconstrued as a butcher at Thanksgiving....

But Jolly....Man, what do I have to do to get just a little respect from this guy? I slave over my tracks thinking "Oh, Jolly's gonna like this one," or "Man, I hope Jolly digs this track" but no, I get nothing. I don't know if you guys have heard Jolly play, but he's a serious rock dog with great tone and feel. Just once, that's all I ask, just once, I want him to say "You did ok, biatch."

Back to the ol' drawing board. Just you wait Jolly, just you wait...

Cheers....................................... Geoff.

Quit being such a crappy guitar player man. That might be a start....geez.

Come on guy, at least take a lesson or 12.

Re: They Call Me WahWah...

I just listened to the song again and gave it another chance. It still didn't work. Maybe it's just me....I don't know, but I don't get it man. Maybe I just can't get over the fact that you have such an ugly guitar. I know I'm somewhat shallow, but have you ever thought about re-painting that thing to at least make it better lookin and possibly better sounding? I mean....come on dude. Get with the program man!! Get a Les Paul and a Marshall stack man, cause whatever you're playing through just isn't workin.

Ok, so I took your advice Jolly and I found myself a real good guitar teacher. He's a little expensive, but he seems like he really knows his stuff. He told me that if I do everything he says, and practise real hard, that I could be playing like Yngwie Malmsteen in 10 years, like Eric Johnson in 5 years, Slash in 1 year, and Ace Frehley by about mid-way next week.

I said to him "That's all great, but I want to be able to play like Jolly."

He said "I'm a guitar teacher son....not a miracle worker..."

Re: They Call Me WahWah...

you did better than ok, biatch! you rock!
Are the CD's autographed?

Thanks man, at least somebody appreciates my efforts...not like Jolly.

The CD's aren't autographed...yet...but they certainly can be.

Re: They Call Me WahWah...

I'd like mine to have a big lipstick smooch on it.

No problem Keith, there's an old cat lady who lives down the road, I'll drop in one afternoon after she's eaten fried chicken and get her to put some lipstick on just for your CD.

Cheers.................................... wahwah

Re: They Call Me WahWah...

That may or may not work for me. Does "old" describe the lady, the cat(s) or both?

I'm sorry, I really should have been more clear. She is an old lady, who has many cats of a wide variety of ages and breeds, so I should have said, there's an old lady who has young, old and middle aged cats, etc, etc. I hope this clarifies the matter, and I am sorry for any inconvenience.
