I really want a tom delonge strat but they disonctinued it for thaT UGLY gibson hollybody of his now. Do any stores near you sell this gutar at all guys? And i really like the single volume knob so i AM not going to buya strat and add an invader because it only wat one pick up, otehrwsie iw ould just use my strat with a hot rail.

Re: They Stopped Selling the Tom Delonge model!

I would suggest either keeping an eye on Ebay, or building a Warmoth version.

buy a fat strat, an invader, a warmoth pickgaurd and rewire it. is his name really that important?

Fat strat: $400
Invader: $75
Pickgaurd: $30
Rewiring: $5 (solder... thats pretty much all you'll have to pay for...)
Total: $510

you realize that signature strat is just an HSS strat with a 1 pickup pickgaurd, right?

yup i do, wait does fender sell the single humbucker pick gaurds? if so i can always dot hat i just simply want 1 humbucker, one volume nob thats it no other pick ups. that would be rad.

I bought one before they stopped selling it. Sold the pickguard assembly for $105 at ebay. God new pickguard and dropped JB with 250K pot. I get very "in-your-face" tone.

Get a MIM Robert Cray and route the bridge for a humbucker if you want a cheap hardtail.

Yes, the JB is the one I trade with my ap2. Sounds great!

I love the tom delonge strat too, some people dont like the lack of versatility, but ive always prefered simple set-ups, and i reckon strats look sooo cool with just oen pup and single knob, so uncluttered and modern looking. They did some nice colours too, the surf greeny one and the graffiti yellow would stand out really nice on stage. It was pretty reasonably priced aswell, kinda wish i got one too just before they stopped them, espcially since ive fallen in love with my invader pup in my ibanez.

I would opt for a fat strat rewired and with a new pickguard. The wiring should be relatively simple compared with others considering that theres no tone or selecter switch. It sounds fun, go 4 it!

Re: They Stopped Selling the Tom Delonge model!

but wouldnt some storess till carry the modle even if its discontued im sure not all tom delonge srrats are sold out.

Re: They Stopped Selling the Tom Delonge model!

I'd build one personally. That way I could get the neck the way I wanted it. Plus you get to choose your color

Re: They Stopped Selling the Tom Delonge model!

i really like the graffitti yellow 1..... i think it would be even better with a maple fret board. keep an eye on ebay for a cheap 1
