thickest, warmest (maybe even darkest) chorus pedal?

Re: thickest, warmest (maybe even darkest) chorus pedal?

thickest chorus i ever heard/tried...

My H2O to me is exactly what you're describing.

Re: thickest, warmest (maybe even darkest) chorus pedal?

I was told they ran out of their supply of components used to build them

-the voodoo lab analog chorus that is-

Ibanez CS-9

Yeah, this is a dark pretty full sounding chorus. Also, the reissues fron the 90-s with the olfd style bucket brigade chips. The current issue with proprietary new manufactured BBD chips actually has a bright switch on it to make it more lively.

Re: thickest, warmest (maybe even darkest) chorus pedal?

When I went chorus shopping, I eventually came home with the Visual Sound H2O. When you put its chorus and its delay on together, they make the biggest cleans you've ever heard. I still use it all the time. For some reason, the delay there matches better with the chorus than my Carbon Copy. If I don't want the chorus, I turn on the Carbon Copy, but that pair is like chocolate and caramel. If you just want chorus, though, I would imagine the liquid chorus might just be your thing.

For what it's worth, I've heard nothing but good things about the Black Label Chorus also.

I like the H2O as well. . .it is a wonderful pedal. . .the Echo is great and the Chorus is a very clean, not watery pedal. Using the two together is also a pleasure.

Re: thickest, warmest (maybe even darkest) chorus pedal?

Im looking for a chorus pedal, still.
I had a Small Clone a few years back that I loved.
I had to get rid of it.
I tried a couple different small clones that are more recently made.
They sound different than what I remembered.

I tried a Nano Clone.... yuck.
I tried a Neo Clone, and it was noisy. Crazy, because its the same as a Small Clone, but it is in a smaller housing.

I had a TC Corona Chorus and it was really nice, but I ended up sending it back because it was just too bright. I couldnt get a really thick sounding chorus from it. It was good, but not what I wanted.

Do you have any recommendations?

That is strange since the Corona is transparent and maybe a bit dark with my amps and my experience, plus it has a tone knob, so I can make it very dark, and it is quite warm.

Re: thickest, warmest (maybe even darkest) chorus pedal?

I've got a Boss CE2. The only way I like it is after my tuner and before everything else, in front of the amp.
In the loop it sounds too hi-fi and clean.
And I tried a Phase 90 and liked it even better, much thicker and not as intrusive in the high-end. So whoever suggested the EVH Phase, I agree.

Re: thickest, warmest (maybe even darkest) chorus pedal?

The Retrosonic chorus is certainly warm and dark, it supposedly th closest thing to an old Boss CE1. It's very cool as it has a switchable vibrato too.
