downloading it now. I have a legacy half stack and it doesn't take much effort at all to get a Vai-ish tone out of it. The amp is so unique sounding wherever you put the EQ it has that flavor to it that you can hear on Vai's live stuff.

haha just kidding. that is a great tone you have there though. is that the dimarzio evolutions in that ibanez? and is that just a marshall avt50 with a boss gt6?

allright, it would definately pass as vai's tone on the 1st half .. some parts on the 2nd half he plays with the neck bucker so those sound less harsh and you need a little bit of work my friend (or i need less beer) either way, this video just ripped me a new one

and one of these days i will really have to do what i keep saying over and over .. practice more dıckhead =P

Looks like the timing of your playing in the video is a little bit of beat, since you properly played unplugged, after the file was recorded, right??

man that was awsome i love that vai tune. nailed the tone. i hope that i can play like that when i turn that age. what marshall amp are you using?

Wow... that was a solid state Marshall combo? I could have mistakened that for the original. The tone was pretty much spot on, I think yours just sounded a tiny bit "crispier"

Nice playing, this one's better than the recording you posted.

How long have you been learning it? That song is all over the place!
