I don't know too much about the newer ones, though I did like the Warhead and Titan for Metal but search for an old RG head. It is a great amp. THe footswitches are tough to find but if you can score one from the late 80's you are golden. An RG100ES was my main amp for a decade and it never, ever let me down. No one believed it was an SS amp and the guys in my band are still in shock I sold it. I was in a rut, never should've let it go, for sentimental reasons if nothing else.
You can get them for $200-250 near anyday of the week.
