Thinking about a NAD should I downsize?

I an GASing for a Roland JC 120. I had one years back and regret selling it. My only issue is should I sell some gear I am not using? I have 3 amps in the office and 4 100+ watt monsters in the basement. I have the room and don't need to sell anything to buy the JC but is it practical having this many amps?

What would you use it for.that the others won't or can't do?

Do it, Bruce.

The JC-120 is phenomenal.

For amps I have:
Marshall VS 100
Behringer PA/Keyboard/Acoustic Amp
Fender Excelsior

JBL 600 wt 8x12 stack
72' Silverface Fender Quad Reverb
Randall Commander 410
Fender M80 Pro Half Stack

For jamming and most gigs the 100 watters are too big and a pain to move. The Excelsior is not powerful enough if I have a drummer. Typically if I go jam I take the VS100, it is a very good amp. What I have been wanting is a GREAT amp that will fit in the car and have enough power for a full band. So essentially the Roland would be replacing the Marshall so I was toying with getting rid of it. Also outside of my Fender Quad I am wondering if I would really miss the bigger amps. I do love the Fender M80 Pro Half Stack because it is cheap and loud with pretty good tone. I have no problems leaving it in any random jam room for extended periods.

Re: Thinking about a NAD should I downsize?

For many keyboardists, the Roland JC120 was a perennial favourite. (Perhaps, the Behringer can go?) For guitarists, the JC120 really needs a pedalboard in front of it.

If space is a concern, the Jazz Chorus series came in smaller versions; the -77 might be loud enough. If you don't need fake stereo, the old grey Roland Cube 60 Chorus is neat (except for the atrocious built-in spring reverb!).

Normally I'd be all like "DUDE DON'T EVER SELL AMPS" but then you started listing what you have and I'm like... maybe you should sell EVERYTHING and get a really sweet tube amp.

But i mean you know me. Or whatever.

I believe the Roland is a bit heavy as well

My Fender Quad is a sweet tube amp IMO. I will never get rid of that thing I have had it since I was 16. The Excelsior is also tube. I was thinking about a Mesa combo to replace the Marshall then started looking at JCs. The 120s are going for about $500 on Craigslist used and like I said I had one and loved it.

I just got the Behringer and it was a steal. I know Supertramp recorded the keys for Breakfast in America through a JC 120 but most of that was Fender Rhodes stuff. Most of my keys are super low MOOG like patches. I don't want to send all that bass through what might become my No. 1 guitar amp. It is perfect for what I need. space inst an issue so if I do this it will be the JC 120.

They have a bit of heft just as heavy as a twin. The big thing is the size for me. I hate dragging a half stack in and out of the car. It is not as bad if I have the wife's SUV but my Lexus is tight for space.

Re: Thinking about a NAD should I downsize?

I have gone in a different direction
With my rig

It should arrive tomorrow

I got two of the Joyo clones of the Tech21 amp simulating pedals

A Morley ABY pedal

And a stereo reverb

Which I plan to run into a Carvin PM12a powered speaker

Pedalboard speaker guitar
All should fit in my hatchback
