I know I mentioned it before, but my first real tube amp was an ETA80 that I picked up at a pawnshop 5 miles from where they were made - Gardena Ca. I think. I think I paid $260 for it.
Those were basically boutique Marshalls, before anyone even used the term "boutique."
Mine had 2 6550's, and when one of them blew, I replaced it with some crappy tube from Radio Shack. This was before I knew better, and also had no money. I ended up selling it.
I wish I'd kept it, and put all Tungsol in it.
