This somewhat made my day..

The boss has decided to redo a few pedals as one channel ones....
The PT will be redone, and while I am at it, redesigned at some points...
Three knobs, no boost, no bloody channel one:D
Something else might be done to it, but that I'll not give away now:)

The sleepy AC-Tone will also suffer the same fate, and be way more like I wanted it to be in the first place....nice!!!

Some other projects are also getting more substantial now, better times for this old pedal solderrat....
Got myself a prototype for the PT at home now, hope to get a clip done later on:)

(clip added)
Used my kramer Pacer Deluxe, with a 59n in the bridge, and two J-100 singlecoils, Vox amp plug used here at home, at the job I used everything from a Hiwatt to a small 15 watt combo, and got pretty much the same result(more meat and all that on the tube amps, more air is naturally pushed around)
The basic sound is pretty much covered, goes from playing along a backer to fading to just the guitar, I fool around with the tone and overdrive knob, left the volume pretty much alone.

And here is a picture of the dratted thingie!!!
Will using that kind of knobs on it, creme I gather?!

Re: This somewhat made my day..

Looks good. Can't listen to it now as my girlfriend is asleep. I'll check it out tomorrow.

Re: This somewhat made my day..

Thanks, it will not look like the hdb on the picture, same box though, no boost, so only three knobs.
New circuit board(gonna love making a new one...doh...)
It has also been revoiced some, will probally redo the ac-tone today......give it back some life...hehe

Re: This somewhat made my day..

Looks great, I've been speaking to Mr. Bees and he's very happy with his... now I'm wanting to try some! I like simple too... so it seems I will like your new ideas. Good stuff!

Re: This somewhat made my day..

Loved the clip Niels! I love to hear you play with a backing track, but I'm glad to hear you record something where you just "noodle" for awhile-guitar and amp and pedal. You don't do it very much and one of those noodle clips is what caused me to buy a PT 5 years ago or so. The Pedal sounds great, just like the original PT. If this is going to be a "economy" version with less features , I will def snag one. I don't really need the two channels, and boost function the original has- I just need that awesome PLexi-simulacrum! :bigthumb:

P.S. I still think that pedal shootout I posted was good ;) :D

Re: This somewhat made my day..

Can't wait to check it out when i get home to some speakers! Sounds like you're back to having fun again!!!?

Re: This somewhat made my day..

Thanks guys....hehe yeah Hoss I am...
Yeah off that channel goes, gone with the too big pedal, three knobs, level, wave, gain......no boost.
One feature is coming up, but I'll show you that later on...nice one really, and no compromise like the dual pots that shares the same drive circuit.

Anyways did the update on the AC Tone today, same voicing, but changed a few parts, and it has much more dirt on tap now, no sleepy grandpa sounds only.....

Here is a clip using my strat, just a quick one that I did right after I got home, will do one later with a track and some buckers as well.

Hehe I do not like the noodle noodle stuff much, I like to play to music preferly.

Mr Bees got one of the old old first ones.....it is a feisty mofo:D

Here is the track...never mind the noodles...hehe
Kicked in a chorus and delay for a short time close to the end, just to see if it could go slightly Queen on me;)

Re: This somewhat made my day..

I love the idea of this line. Whats the power sources for these guys?
The PT is hands down my favorite pedal I have ever stepped on for straight up rockin'.
But do I have to remind you that we're not going to talk about your work :)

Re: This somewhat made my day..

;)
Heh yeah, and I like having a very very low profile......
Just thought it might make a few happy with this.....then I am prolly back to my low profile again...haha
For now it has the internal +-12v supply.
And they do not sound very good at normal 9v...flat cannot even describe it!

Heh yep Jeff......for once it sounds like I want it to.....

Re: This somewhat made my day..

Does this mean my old five-knob PlexiTone will become a much sought after collectors' item, or will CM still be making those too?

Re: This somewhat made my day..

Eh it might be awhile before this baby hits the streets...
New pcb, look, knobs, a few other things to do before it can be made:)
Then of course making it as well..hehe
