Only ever tried a s/h one at Sounds Great near Manchester. It's a good few years back now, but my recollection is that the neck was rather thinner than I like. Pretty sure I walked away with my Lonestar Strat from that visit, which had rather more substance to it, though these days, that seems shallower than many of the others I now have.

How do you all think the neck shape compares, say, to an Am Std strat?

The neck on my LG is a little wider at the neck ,which I prefer, its thinner and also has a flatter fretboard. Very easy to chord, pick or play leads on. Not as thick as my Am Std but the LG and the Strat are the two guitars I can play all nice without my hand getting tired or hurting.

The different Godins that I've tried have all had very different feeling necks. Most of their more expensive models seemed to be a little wider and thinner . . . I'm a big fan of the Godin guitars that I've played.

Fret size doesnt usually bother me too much so I cant say for sure until I get home to look. I do know they arent small and are probably in the medium range. Definitely not jumbos

Godin has some of the best guitars for the money I've ever played. The action is impeccable on my Solidac. I might have a Floyd rose installed.

I've been a godin owner for the last 7-8 years, and I can say that my two godins outlived the gibsons in my collection. When it came to having to ditch a guitar, they always stay with me.

my Solidac's mahogany neck is the same neck that is on the LGX... i have heard many players say they feel close in shape to a lot of acoustic guitar necks... Seagull acoustic's which are made by Godin have a simular neck shape on them as Godin uses on their Electrics so that maybe where they are comparing from...

the one thing i loved about using Godins in a cover band is the wide range of sounds i could get! Heavy metal one tune, to soft acoustic sounds, to classic LP sounds to Strat Sounds... all close enough from a single axe... I based my amp rigs off of using the Godin to get many different tones...

one day i'll buy another Godin...
