Thoughts on Tele colors

Ok, so Christmas is coming up soon, and I've been able to convince the parents to allow me to go ahead and get some stuff early so I can have it finished in time for christmas. This 'some stuff' I'm referring to is a swamp ash telecaster body routed for a neck humbucker and a tele bridge pickup. I plan on eventually putting a bigsby on it, but for now it's going to be regular 3-brass saddle bridge.

I'm gonna finish it in nitro, and I've got a question: Which color would look better with a white pickguard, Fiesta Red or Gibson Goldtop Gold? Those are the two I like from guitar reranch, and I already have the white pickguard, so I can't change that part of it.

Which one would you guys get? I should say that an APH2 is going in the neck and a JD is going in the bridge. It seems like a good combination, but I was thinking that a PGn would be cool too - any thoughts about those? I'm probably gonna end up with the APHII in the neck though b/c I have that on hand.

Do both in a sunburst. Spray the gold first, then overlay the red in strategic patterns. No one has one of those!

If the ash is good looking, I'd go natural or go with a transparent butterscotch or white blonde or similar. I'm also a fan of goldtop and black as well with white pickguards.

Both would look very cool. I'd probably go with red...


Anything that's not the usual, used to death by Fender - yellowish, sunburst, white or black - would look cool.

I would go with red. I think the Gold would look a lot better with a black pickguard, or maybe pearl.

What pickups?? I would recommend a Firebird MINIHUM instead of a full HB in the neck. Its a great neck bucker in Tele. That paired with a Jerry dinahue bridge would be an awesome combination.

I'd go red, but get a cream guard and for the love of Pete, don't you dare slap a Bigsby on there! Teles are horrible looking like that! It's like putting rims and a big ol' spoiler on a Buick. Totally unnecessary. (Grand National not included)
