Well while it is probally amazing with all these new and fantastic super compressors, with their midi blenders microwave ovens radar infrared bypass and what else they have build in these days.....these are still my preferred comps
The Washburn is just a variation of the old MXR Dynacomp, the CS-2 needs no explanation, the old LM-2 is abit of a rare bird in this form, a very clean and great sounding unit, fast VCA so it can be set either for more oldschool slow sounds, or quick almost not there modern compressor things....love it.
Got a few others, opticals and VCA driven ones, also great units.
What I like about these old things, they have a certain own stamp on the sound, I do not like the feel of most modern stuff, too sterile stiff and all that, smooth and quite unintresting to my ears...
These old buggers are more fun, and I have used those things almost ever since I started with electric guitars( I can play without, but I use them 99.9% of time).
Mostly with other pedals, when just going into amps alone, I never use any pedals then.
Dunno have always liked them, great tools.....
