Tinting tru oil

Re: Tinting tru oil

I saw this and thought i would share. Makes sense to me. :headbang:

Thanks for sharing!

is this oil best for guitars?

Hard to use terms "best"...kinda like saying the "Best" pickup is ___.

I like TruOil the best for an oil finish because it is super easy to apply, a little goes a LONG way, it holds up well over time, it looks very nice, etc.

But there are other oils out there and someone who prefers a painted finish would say TruOil is terrible. lol

Re: Tinting tru oil

I have been working on a tru oil finish for the last week. I would have mentioned this before but for anyone doing one you have to try and rub back with kerosene. Just between coats, i let them dry over night then sand with 1500 and some kero. Not heavy sanding just lightly. :headbang:

No word of a lie it works like bread on butter. It flattens it down perfectly and is a great way to build it up to a high gloss.
