To foam or not to foam…

Hi again all!

I found a beautiful piece if white limba and decided the world doesn’t have enough tele/firebird hybrids. For the neck I did a hand wound 63 Firebird via a P90 route and a Les Paul Deluxe ring. Maybe it’s not for all but I think the deluxe ring looks right in this case. So it turns out that I routed it too shallow for the aluminum bar and the pickup with proper pickup height. So, I inlaid a nut in the floor of the route for each pickup height screw. I epoxied them in so they’re not going anywhere.

All things considered, is this a case for foam or is it irrelevant here? The guitar is far from done but I don’t want it to squeal like mad and have to rip it apart immediately after stringing it.

Thanks!

i wouldnt think youd need it, but if youre concerned then just do it. it wont hurt anything

Unnecessary in terms of holding the pickup in place, of course.
Still, I'd probably put it in for the sake of damping. Just in case.

I think I wouldn't bother unless there is an issue after you have it all back together.
