to the guy who listed this...

Re: to the guy who listed this...

What's wrong with that? An attenuator, new tubes and speaker swaps? Sounds pretty standard, there's no need to get violent. . .

Re: to the guy who listed this...

A hot rod deville is a classic amp now? Geeze, I should sell my classic Pentium II or my vintage Super Nintendo . . .

Re: to the guy who listed this...

Read through the auction again....

It was obviously written by someone that knows electronics but knows nothing about sound.

He lists using the preamp out as a "fourth sound" the amp can get as well as the replacement of the grill cloth to a metal one for better tonal transfer.

The dude has a great career in sales ahead of him....

Re: to the guy who listed this...

first off the thing about the grill is... ridiculous

carvin speakers sound horrible, he said it gets rid of the muddiness of the amp, but i can get them to twang when they're 100% stock, so i know they're not muddy

he says it's more like 120 watts because it's 2x12

claims 2 channels & 3 drive stages, where it's really one channel with 2 available added gain stages

he says it was biased after changing preamp tubes

basically he used a buncha tech talk to make it sound like he did a whole lot & is real knowlegeable but basically everything he said was wrong

Re: to the guy who listed this...

He does lend alot of information that seems to be skewed in the direction of IGNORANCE!!!

Ya gotta love when someone FLUFFS a basic statement so far that it sounds like an infomercial!!!

Re: to the guy who listed this...

man.. for the redneck effect he could've used chicken wire

I was thinking the exact same thing. It sounded like someone who doesn't know a lot about an amp when it comes to being a guitarist. The description he gave wasn't at all what I would look for when it comes to buying an amp. And for $350, I'd like the original fender grill put back on!

Yeah, but look at the pictures. You can still see the original Fender preamptubes, but the poweramptubes are Sovteks. So the amp may well have been rebiased :)

Everything else in the auction text sounds like total crap to me :fingersx:

Re: to the guy who listed this...

It's like those QVC Esteban guitars that are "made of REAL wood"! I hate it when people that know NOTHING about gear try to pull that kind of crap. I think a punch in the face would be acceptable in this case.

Cheers,

CJ

Re: to the guy who listed this...

I love the fact that you can see the guys winnie in the picture of the back logoplate....lol...the guy lives in a van down by the river, can't we cut him some slack? :)

Re: to the guy who listed this...

"I'M THRICE DIVORCED, AND I LIVE IN A VAN DOWN BY THE RIVER!"

-chris farley, aaand i guess this guy, too

Re: to the guy who listed this...

But you could make this a 2000 watt Fender tube amp with the right rack, right?? Then you could get the Marty McFly giant speaker and mini guitar. :fingersx:

And someone DID pay over five bills with shipping for this beaut.

Re: to the guy who listed this...

"This is a Fender Hot Rod DeVille 60 watt all tube amplifier, with two 12" speakers. That means that it's real measured output is somewhere closer to 120 watts when at full blast."

Hot dog.... if I hook up 10 speakers to my 10 watt practice amp, it'll be 100 watts!
