I just installed a pair of homemade humbuckers into a guitar project. I'm using a master volume push/pull to shunt one coil from each pup to ground and a pair of 500k audio taper tone pots. The neck tone pot works exactly as I expected with a gradual change from bright to dark. The bridge tone pot, however, is working like a volume pot, which is not what I expected. Both tone pots are using .047 capacitors, however, one is from Radio Shack (it's on the neck tone pot) and the other came from Warmoth (it's on the bridge tone pot).
Does anyone know why the bridge tone pot would work like a volume pot? Could it be the Warmoth capacitor is bad? I'm using an SD schematic:
