Tonepros Locking Roller Brdige Versus "Made In China" Locking Roller Bridge...

There's a huge difference in price on these bridges on ebay. They're both Locking Roller Bridges, but one is Tonepros and one is Made in China.

Tonepros = $87

Made in China = $6

What accounts for the price difference?

Are people paying for anything more than a name?

I have one fairly similar to the Chinese one on one of my guitars.. It's pretty good, but then again I've never added a more expensive one to see if there's a difference.. I have a hard time paying anything over $10 for something like that.. But I'm a simpleton..

I imagine the metals on the Tonepros one is of better quality.. That being said, yes. A majority of it is the name. If it's Made in the USA, that's also a price bump. Everything else is debatable..
Buy the Chinese one. If it sucks, you know not to get another one, and you've only wasted $6 to find that out..

better quality metal, better craftsmanship, more accurate string and post spacing etc. i've tried a cheap roller bridge and it just sucked tone and sustain, i took it straight off!

About a year ago I bought some Chinese copies of Schaller Straplocks.

Waste of money. The Schallers were hardened steel and near indestructible. The Chinese ones felt lighter than aluminum, flimsy, were not compatable with Schaller strap buttons. So I never put them on

I swapped the bridge on an epi dot from the Chinese OEM hardware to a tone pros one . . . it made a noticeable difference for the better. Sustain improved, and the guitar seemed to sing more. It's not just the name that you're paying for (although I'm sure that's part of the price).
