Too Many Guitars

Re: Too Many Guitars

2 electrics
3 basses (1 in pieces)
1 acoustic

My mother said if I bought any more, I better be able to sleep in it.

Re: Too Many Guitars

I need a better 12 string. Oh well "mine" is really my neighbor's who never used it and has been in my possession for a while. If he ever wants it back it is his. He got it for free and is a bass player so I don't think he misses it.

I have 1 classical. My first guitar, also got for free. Was originally my sister's who gave up quickly. I took it up a year or two later. Plays very very very very nice actually.

4 functional electrics. I have two builds in progress and I possibly may obtain either an SG Special with the crescent moon inlays or an SGJ in the coming years.

Re: Too Many Guitars

I'm sitting at 14 (2 basses, 3 acoustics, 9 electrics). I know I have enough, but I wouldn't say I have too many, and I'll never not have GAS for more.

Re: Too Many Guitars

LMAO!! Right on! We sure dont think that on our own...

Brunogio,
Not familiar with those Grover era washburn models.. I have an MG104 and two MG130s from that era. Awesome axes!!

These are just simple strat and tele copies. Ash bodies, nice round necks, SD vintage style pups and Wilkinson Gotoh hardware. Really nice and you can get them for Fender MIM prices. They are kind of rare and they did choose some kind of funny names for them.

Re: Too Many Guitars

Ibanez RG320

And I will surely add more in the future. ;)

Re: Too Many Guitars

I only play at home anymore, maybe a few jams with friends. One guitar is plenty for me.

Re: Too Many Guitars

I got 13 right next to me in a space about 18" X 36" X 6.5' (6.5 feet). Rectangular cases are very space friendly.

You got that right. I find the fender USA hard cases are now really well made and also easy to fit into cupboards.

Re: Too Many Guitars

LOL! Too many? I currently have 54...that's LIV in Roman numerals, btw.

Yes...it is insane. Definitely fun though. Eight Martins, 17 G&Ls, 14 Gibsons, five Ibanez, etc. I have a better collection than many shops. And I play them all.

And I always say that I have five too many and ten not enough!

Re: Too Many Guitars

I have 3 basses, 1 electric guitar, and 1 acoustic guitar. I will probably get a new electric soon.

Re: Too Many Guitars

6 electrics (1 12-string)
1 bass

Personally I think that's 1 more than I actually need, as I don't really have time to play all of them as much I like. I'm reluctant to get rid of any though.

Anyone have experience with a good 12 string electric? Not electric acoustic but pure electric.......just the added harmony of an additional 6 strings. Thanks!

Mr Obvious says Rickenbacker. If you want something more conventional, Fender have made a number of electric 12-strings over the years, though I don't think any are currently in production.

Mine is a Squier Venus from the 90s. I actually don't think it's very well made - the binding is uneven and there are other flaws. At the time I had a choice between this and a 12-string Yamaha Pacifica and with hindsight I wish I'd bought the Yamaha.

A lot of 12-strings are semi-hollow. AFAIK Duesenberg, LTD and Dean currently have models in production. I think Schecter have a 12-string solid body.
