If I recall correctly "Fusion" was used to indicate the use of Gibson scale instead of 25.5". I had a white one for a short period of time in about 92.

Lake Placid Blues is correct, the Predator (I had a blue one back when they were new) and the Fusion are not the same, the Predator has a 25.5" scale and the Fusions had the shorter 24.75" scale. The Fusion has a smaller body too, kinda smaller all around. I don't remember my Predator having a super thin "Ibanez Wizard" thin neck, more like the Charvel/ESP "D" shape neck, but it was a long time ago.

I won't comment on the mis-information about Fusions earlier in this thread. The later post have cleared it up. Fusions are Gibson scale and 24 frets. Necks are thin.

Toothepaste logo Charvels have the best hardware - JT590 Schaller bridge. Earlier models had the JT6.

Sorry for bringing back an old thread, but could someone help me out with any info about my old Charvel? Pretty sure it's Japanese from the early 90's because of the toothpaste logo but I have no idea what model it is. Thanks for any help!

I'm going to say I can't remember any ever coming with them. Doesn't mean there was not an odd run or something....but I remember JB's, Distortions, and EMG's only.

After digging into this a bit deeper, now I'm thinking it's a '90 or '91 Fusion Deluxe. The 550xl was neck through which mine is not. Thanks all for the help on this!
