Re: Top 3 'MUST HAVES' in a guitar!
1:Fixed bridge. It can be tune-o-matic, Ibanez Gibralter bridges, or even the Mick Thompson fixed floyd rose style bridge, but no floaty bridges. I play a variety of styles, mostly oldschool death metal riffing, no whammying needed.
2: Tight bottom end. I don't like too hot pickups, as long as it's punchy and powerful. JB or BN Blackhawk are best examples.
3: Set neck. I have one guitar with a bolt-on but I just feel the sustain and responsiveness and feel of a set-neck guitar suits my style more. I know some will disagree about whether it matters and perhaps it's purely psychological. But that's what I want.
