SPELLING ERROR Title should read Torpedo CAB… I was watching the news when I made this typo error.

WOW!

I might just be finally able to leave amps home and take the ones at the clubs out of there!

If it works out really well, there will be more than a few amps for sale!

Re: Tornado CAB

I think you mean Torpedo CAB, and you still plug your amps into it. This eliminates the need for a mic'd up cabinet, not the amp itself. :D

I plan to use it with pedal boards directly into the PA’s mixer, after I rearrange my pedal board.

Two Notes Torpedo C.A.B. Speaker Simulator Pedal

The Two Notes Torpedo C.A.B. packs all of the high-end cabinet simulation featured in their Torpedo Live emulator into a convenient stompbox format. Tailored to accept hi-Z, high-gain pedal input (rather than speaker-level signal like the Torpedo Live), the Torpedo C.A.B. is the perfect backend for your pedalboard, allowing you to pipe your favorite effects directly into your PA or recording rig, without sacrificing the spatial dimension you get with a real cabinet.

Onstage, the Torpedo C.A.B. is the perfect way to ditch your traditional amplifier and run straight to the PA

I am disappointed I came into this thread all excited about the Tornado CAB. My first thoughts were maybe it pushed the air more efficiently, bigger sound, more volume. You new score looks cool anyway. I love the concept let us know how it sounds.

Don't you mean more swirl? :)

Gotcha. Yes, it works fine for that. :D It's a power amp emulator and cab simulator. I've used the software version with pedals as preamps. It *does* eliminate the need for an amp, as long as you're feeding it a preamp type signal of some sort.

I use it without any primp and get great sound out f it.

It is depended on the pedals, guitar, and of course the skill of the player...

To state that a preamp is required is incorrect!

You are using pedals as a preamp. I do the same thing. Plug your guitar straight in and tell me what happens.

Re: Tornado CAB

REVISED…

Now using a Mesa Boogie Triaxis as the preamp, into the Torpedo CAB, then into the PA.

Triaxis is mounted into the same rack as the PA gear and clean power transformer (120 to 220)

I was able to pick it up for $400 US (Real Cheap - Great score)

Now working on MiDi connection for the Triaxis.

That is a *crazy* low price. Good job!

Re: Tornado CAB

There is the EPSi (Lodigy?) Unit that allows IR cab loading of your choice, high resolution IR's too I think. It goes for ~$163 something new. Apparently it started out as something related to convoltion reverb loading pedal(don't know the exact details\words) but the firmware now allows cab ir loading as well.

Thought I'd mention it since its cheaper & smaller in size. :)

Edit: oh its 200 bucks new & called Logidy Epsi
