so i got this 560pf cap and 300K resistor ready for a treble bleed mod. but before i start, i read somewhere that it would NOT clean up nicely with distortion. do you guys agree?

Re: Treble Bleed Mod

that does not make sense...most OD boxes/circuits strip BASS out of the signal. THey'll bleed off treble as well but that's under your control in this case - the bypass allows you to have treble as you turn down the vol but you can always send it off to ground with the tone control.

Re: Treble Bleed Mod

You might want to try instead of running the wire from the tone to the left lug on the volume and putting a cap and resistor from there to the center lug, just run the wire from the tone to the center lug on the volume. It seems to do just as well as a treble bleed mod. Apparently that was the way Les Pauls were originally wired. I do all my guitars that way and it seems to work. Of course you can always do the mod if you don't like it.
