Trem for my les paul

Re: Trem for my les paul

Bigsbys look great on Les Pauls. The Les Trem looks pretty cool too, i'd just like to see a picture of a guitar with it equipped for a better idea y'know.

EDIT: found one.
Something I might consider for my SG...after changing the pickup to a chrome P90, this would add a totally 'vintage' vibe to an otherwise modern guitar.

some les pauls look fine with kahlers and floyds, like the norlin era customs and neil schon signature..
on yours though, i think bigby's would be better, including aesthetically..

Re: Trem for my les paul

Carve the hell out of it!! Add a Floyd!!Whle you're at it, route it out for a tee control plate and P-90s!!!! Why not desecrate it even more and put a bulls-eye finish on it!:D

Actually, if I were you, I would've bought a Strat HH in the first place.

Re: Trem for my les paul

Pfft...I have a Gibson Les Paul Studio and one of the first things I thought about doing to it is slapping a bigsby on there! I'm just waiting til I have the funds to order one

Yeah, but strats feel and resonate like strats. I have a MIM that has that angle covered.

Right now the bigsby is tempting, even if it requires 2 holes. I decided I don't want anything locking, so that leaves the Kahler out. Les trem looks interesting, but I need to find more reviews on it. And my failsafe solutin if I cant decide will be the stetsbar.

nah you would have bought TEN squiers... jk!

if you absolutely have to go trem..then bigsby...
but it's too nice to make holes in it!

Re: Trem for my les paul

The words Les Paul and trem in the same sentence make me queasy. :smack:

Except perhaps in a sentence like "I play Les Pauls and I don't need no goshdarn trem".

As an old fart, my feeling is that the only trem that should be on a Les Paul is a Bigsby. Whatever you do don't take any wood out of the guitar!

Re: Trem for my les paul

this is a stupid suggestion that has never worked for me but it might just be your bag. A good pitch shifting pedal of some kind... there are some with a tremolo arm simulation in them. You'll probably have to search high and low and/or dish out alot of cash to find a decent/accurate one but it's only a suggestion. The Digitech Whammy (the WH-4) has a pretty good Dive-Bomb mode.

+1. Whammy, or a Boss Phase Shifter with a Exp. pedal hooked up t it would do the trick nicely!!

Though it'd be cool to see a Les Paul desecrated!! :D

Re: Trem for my les paul

I checked the bigsby website, and there are holes on the b-7 for top screws. Maybe he was refering to another model?

Re: Trem for my les paul

Man I think we might have a winner. I dont mind small holes on the side, and if I dont drill the top, I think I can totally dig a bigsby.
